Lightning streaks through night skies as Galapagos volcano erupts

Crazy apocalyptic footage of lightning flashing in the skies above Sierra Negra volcano has emerged, during its eruption in June earlier this year.
"It was an impressive sight," said the filmer. "We sailed close to the south of the island and managed to capture these images. At the distance we were, we felt more than safe."
He added that there had also been earthquakes in the region. Some 250 people were ultimately evacuated as a result of the chaos, reported Ecuadorian daily El Universo.
