The storm surge and flooding from Hurricane Florence left streets in parts of North Carolina submerged on Friday, September 14, after the storm made landfall early that morning.The National Hurricane Center said the “life-threatening inland flood hazard” in the Carolinas would continue for days, even after the storm had passed.More than 1.7 million people in Virginia, North and South Carolina were told to evacuate ahead of Florence’s arrival.This video, from a New Jersey Office of Emergency Management “high water vehicle”, shows driving rain and flooded streets as winds from Hurricane Florence buffets North Carolina.
