President Trump is said to have compared former National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster to "a beer salesman." According to an excerpt from Bob Woodwards' upcoming book, 'Fear: Trump in the White House,' shared by the Washington Post, Trump "often mocked…McMaster behind his back, puffing up his chest and exaggerating his breathing as he impersonated the retired Army general, and once said McMaster dresses in cheap suits, 'like a beer salesman.'"  Though Woodward has a stellar reputation as a journalist, Trump has made numerous efforts to breed distrust in the reporting. "The already discredited Woodward book, so many lies and phony sources, has me calling Jeff Sessions 'mentally retarded' and 'a dumb southerner.' I said NEITHER, never used those terms on anyone, including Jeff, and being a southerner is a GREAT thing," Trump tweeted on Tuesday. "He made this up to divide!"  The following day, he wrote: "Isn't it a shame that someone can write an article or book, totally make up stories and form a picture of a person that is literally the exact opposite of the fact, and get away with it without retribution or cost. Don't know why Washington politicians don't change libel laws?"
