Former boat captain Anthony Ballai was sentenced this week to a 12-year prison term for the beating death of a fisherman on the night of May 24, 2005. But having already spent 13 years, one month and 11 days behind bars, Ballai was able to leave the San Fernando High Court with his family. He says his life was transformed in prison.
