Tropical Storm Gordon Drives Waves into Orange Beach, Alabama, Yards

Tropical Storm Gordon made landfall near the Alabama-Mississippi border later on Tuesday, September 4, bringing with it hurricane-force winds, torrential rain and a storm surge.The National Hurricane Centre recorded maximum sustained winds of up to 70 mph as the storm made landfall and swept into the lower Mississippi Valley. Communities from the mouth of the Mississippi River in the east to Navarre, Florida, were warned Tropical Storm Gordon and the tide could cause a storm surge of up to 4 ft.At least one person was killed by a falling tree in Pensacola, Florida, according to the National Weather Service.This video shows waves swamping a backyard in Orange Beach, Alabama.
