Passengers passing through Chicago O'Hare reported flood conditions in the busy airport on Monday, September 3.

Heavy rainfall caused rainwater to leak through the walls, flooding walkways and gate areas in Terminal Five.

As of 6:45 pm, 39 flights at O'Hare were canceled due to storm conditions. Many more were delayed by the weather, with arrival delays averaging three hours and 26 minutes and departures averaging an hour and 30 minutes, according to local media.

Traffic on the I-190 traffic was brought to a standstill in both directions Monday, causing further complications at the bustling airport on a chaotic holiday weekend.
