After going all alpine yesterday, we’re changing tack a bit today and looking at all things bouldering.
First up we’re checking in with Melissa le Nevé, who recently became the first woman in history to climb the famous “Big Five” at Cuvier Rempart in Fontainbleu. The 5 are – Big Boss (7C), Fourmis Rouge (7C), Tristesse (7C), Big Golden (7C+) and Atrésie (8A). Melissa is planning on competing on the IFSC tour this year so I’ve no doubt we’ll be hearing more from her very soon.
Next, we’ve got a cool video from Spain which was sent to us Roberto Palmer. It follows Ruben Diaz and Hector del Campo, somewhat unknown but very good climbers, working their way through some hard problems at the lesser-known La Carcama, near Valencia.
Both problems are 8B so Ruben and Hector are clearly men worth keeping an eye on. Big thanks to Roberto Palmer for the footage.
Before we go, don’t forget that registration opened today for the Arc’Teryx Academy, which will take place here in Chamonix between the 12th and 14th June. We’ll be there, as will some of the World’s top climbers, and you could be too so get online and register now!
