EC to examine suggestions to work towards improving the election process: CEC

The Election Commission (EC) held an all party meeting in New Delhi on Monday. After the meet, Chief Election Commission (CEC) OP Rawat said that some political parties have problems with EVMs and VVPATs. These things have been noted down by the Commission.

The meeting was attended by recognised national and state political parties in New Delhi today. Representatives of all political parties were present at the meeting. Consultation meetings are held periodically by the Commission with political parties to discuss various important issues. Ahead of the all-party meeting, Congress appealed to EC to hold Lok Sabha polls on ballot paper. Agendas for the meeting also includes measures to improve accuracy, transparency, inclusivity and fidelity of electoral rolls. A discussion to cap expenditure of political parties was also expected.
