Authorities on Monday shifted their focus on tackling the spread of disease in Kerala as water receded and rescue operations entered its final stages after the worst floods in a century killed more than 200 people. Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan said the rescue operation has reached its last leg and will be completed by Monday evening and that top priority will be given to restoring normalcy in the crippled areas.
