Vajpayee Amar Rahen: Procession inches closer to Smriti Sthal; lakhs bid adieu to former PM

Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee breathed his last at the age of 93 at AIIMS in New Delhi last evening. The giant political figure was admitted to the hospital on June 11 with a UTI and a chest infection. His condition reportedly deteriorated over the last 48 hours and he was said be on life support. Vajpayee's contribution to Indian politics is unforgettable, he was a monumental personality immortalised in his words and his ideals. He had an illustrious until he left politics after he had a heart attack in 2009. The late PM's mortal remains have been kept at his residence for now, his mortal remains will shifted to the Deena Dayal Upadhyay Marg HQ of the BJP at around 9 am this morning and at till 4 pm his last rites will be performed at the Rashtriya Smriti Sthal with full state honours.
