Tensions are mounting ahead of the proposed 'London Declaration for Referendum 2020' rally on August 12.
On Friday, the All India Anti-Terrorist Front staged a protest outside the British High Commission against the planned London rally. Protesters carried placards stating that the UK is supporting ISI's project codenamed 'Express' against India. They said that the UK government must condemn supporters of the pro-Khalistan movement. Notably, the UK administration has rejected India's formal request to not allow the anti-India rally.
India’s biggest concern is not the rally itself but the implications of the planned protest. The rally is being organised by at Trafalgar Square by Sikhs for Justice, who are seeking a separate country for Sikhs. India has warned the UK Administration that allowing the rally could impact bilateral relations between New Delhi and London.
