Wildfires Scorch Tens of Thousands of Acres in Western British Columbia

The British Columbia Wildfire Service worked to contain forest fires across western Canada on August 7 were a number of individual wildfires has grown to tens of thousands of acres in size.This footage opens showing the Stikine Complex of nine fires near Telegraph Creek in northwestern British Columbia. The complex prompted evacuations and the closure of roads in the area, according to authorities.The Shovel Lake fire, which grew to 5,400 hectares (more than 13,340 acres), on August 6, can be seen at the 38-second mark.
