Flames From Kamloops Fire in British Columbia Spotted Spreading Across Hills

A brush fire ignited around noon on July 12 in Kamloops, British Columbia, and grew to 60 hectares, or 150 acres, according to local news reports and the BC Wildfire Service.The BC Wildfire Service said in a Tweet that there were 49 firefighters, one helicopter, air tankers and investigators at the fire on the Tk’emlups Reserve.Residents of the reserve were placed under an evacuation alert on July 12, according to Global News, but no structures have been damaged and no injuries have been reported from the fire.The cause of the fire is under investigation, according to CFJC Today.Maureen Giasson uploaded videos of the fire to her Facebook page.
