Rescuers Search Mosque Rubble for Lombok Quake Survivors

Rescuers continued to search ruined building for survivors of a 7.0 magnitude earthquake that killed 98 people when it struck the Indonesian island of Lombok on Sunday, August 5.Thousands of buildings were destroyed in the quake, with the worst-hit area being north Lombok island. Indonesian authorities said a rescue operation to free people trapped under the collapsed Jabal Nur Mosque on the island continued on Tuesday.On Monday, authorities also evacuated hundreds of people from the Gili Islands, an archipelago near northwest Lombok. National disaster agency spokesman Sutopo Purwo Nugroho said three ships were used to transfer about 1,000 people from the islands to safety.This video shows rescue efforts at the mosque and evacuations from Gili Islands.
