Redding Family's Terrifying Escape From the Path of a Fire Tornado

Justin Sanchez recorded his family’s escape from the path of the deadly Carr fire and a towering fire tornado that ripped through Redding, California, on July 26.In this footage recorded by Justin Sanchez from the bed of a pickup truck flames can be seen burning near homes with the “firenado” looming in the background. Sanchez in an interview with Buzzfeed News said the video was captured as he fled the fire with his father and his two teenage sons. The Sanchez’s home was destroyed in the fire.More than 20,000 residents of Redding, California, were forced to evacuate their homes on July 26 and July 27 after the Carr Fire exploded in size to at least 44,450 acres.The cause of the fire was reported to have been from a vehicle malfunction on Monday, July 23.
