Filmer in South Africa captures initial phase of total lunar eclipse

A filmer in Kruger National Park in South Africa captured the initial phase of a total lunar eclipse on July 27. This total lunar eclipse will be the longest of the century.

“With no light pollution across the whole African wilderness of Kruger National Park, this spectacle was as clear and bright as it could possibly be,” the filmer said.

“The close-up footage captures the initial phase of the eclipse when the earth's umbra starts covering the moon, making the eclipse more visible to the naked eye,” the filmer explained.
