Hawaii’s fissure 8 continues to be active as it sends a lava flow into Kapoho Bay, according to media reports.

In the video, a filmer captured the bright fissure on video while shooting from a helicopter.

“As beautiful as it is, fissure 8 is also a deadly one,” the filmer said. “It has destroyed hundreds of houses as well as the most amazing parts of the Big Island of Hawaii, including coral reefs of Kapoho.”

“I filmed the video from the helicopter that had no doors and I was able to feel the heat of the eruption,” the filmer added.
