The Anupam Kher starrer, The Accidental Prime Minister, is gathering steam with every passing day. After Anupam, among others, introducing us to many of the chief players in this drama individually, Taran Adarsh on Monday, tweeted a picture which showed the entire cast of the film. Sharing the picture, Taran Adarsh wrote: “Arriving Christmas 2018... #TheAccidentalPrimeMinister, the political drama starring Anupam Kher, to release on 21 Dec 2018... Costars Akshaye Khanna, Suzanne Bernert and Aahana Kumra... Directed by Vijay Gutte... Here’s a glimpse of the film:” The picture has the following figures of contemporary Indian political firmament: former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his wife Gursharan Kaur, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, former President APJ Abdul Kalam and former union minister Shivraj Patil. It looks like a scene from the film—a photo opportunity in the central hall of the Indian parliament. The Accidental Prime Minister, based on the book of the same name by Sanjaya Baru, is a look at the UPA years of Indian politics. The book alleges that Dr Singh was never fully in control of his cabinet and significant amount of power was wielded by then Congress president Sonia Gandhi. He also alleges that Dr Singh was completely subservient to her. The film, is produced by Bohra Bros (while Hansal Mehta is the creative producer), will see Anupam play Dr Singh. German actor Suzanne Bernert will play former Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Ahana Kumra will be seen playing Priyanka and Arjun Mathur will be seen playing Rahul. During the making of the film, video clips went viral which showed Anupam ace the mannerisms of Dr Singh. The look of the character has been appreciated for coming really close to the real person.
