WATCH AND SHARE - West Papuan survivors speak out at what happened when the Indonesian military bombed their village and shot their relatives earlier this month.
On 4th April 2018, the Indonesian military bombed and then raided Opitawak village, shooting and killing several people, even though they raised Indonesian flags as a peace gesture. Of the confirmed victims, village chief Timotius Omabak was killed while Iron Wave (7 years) and Tetius Omabak (8 years) were both shot and wounded.
The United Liberation Movement for West Papua - ULMWP Spokesperson Jacob Rumbiak has condemned this brutal attack and says, "These are Crimes against Humanity in West Papua, for which the Indonesian military and government must be held accountable.
"The Indonesian military must stop pursuing West Papuan people, raiding their villages and shooting them, especially women and children, many of whom are becoming refugees in the jungle and are now facing hunger."
