It's day one of the monsoon session of the parliament and the most important bills that are likely to gain precedence in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha are the women's reservation bill and the triple talaq bill respectively. The govt is seeking to do wager with the congress for the passage of the triple talaq bill that is stuck in the Rajya Sabha due from lack of support from the opposition. After congress chief Rahul Gandhi offered his unconditional support to the women’s reservation bill and wrote to the centre to back passage of the bill in the Lok Sabha, Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad wrote back to him, asking for his support towards the triple talaq bill and prohibition of nikah halala.
