Trump Slams Obama For Brexit Remark

President Trump on Friday slammed former President Obama for his past statement on Brexit.

President Trump on Friday slammed former President Obama over the warning he gave to the U.K. two years ago about the impending Brexit vote.
During a joint press conference with British Prime Minister Theresa May, Trump was asked about the country's decision to leave the European Union.
"I think you will agree that I said I think Brexit will happen," Trump said. "And it did happen."
"And the reason I felt it was going to happen was because of immigration. I think one of the reasons I got elected was because of immigration, and I felt that Brexit had the upper hand. And most people didn't agree with me," Trump continued. "If you remember, Barack Obama said that your country will have to get on the back of the line if that happened. Which I thought was a terrible thing to say, frankly."
Trump was referring to a comment then-President Obama had made in April 2016, saying: "I think it's fair to say that maybe some point down the line there might be a U.K.-U.S. trade agreement, but it's not going to happen any time soon because our focus is in negotiating with a big bloc, the European Union, to get a trade agreement done. The U.K. is going to be in the back of the queue."
Obama had been an outspoken proponent of the UK remaining in the European block though, at the time, some criticized him for speaking out about another country's domestic affairs.
