'Beyond Stupid': Former RNC Chairman Slams Trump Over Roy Moore Remarks

Michael Steele had harsh words for President Trump in the wake of his remarks on Roy Moore.

President Trump on Tuesday defended Roy Moore when reporters asked him about the multiple sexual misconduct allegations against the Republican Senate candidate in Alabama.
Former RNC chairman Michael Steele responded harshly to Trump voicing support for Moore, calling the president's remarks, "beyond stupid."
Steele said, in his interview with MSNBC, "you cannot side with Roy Moore on this," and added that the allegations made by nine women are "credible."
"This is beyond stupid. And it's irreparable harm that's being done to this party and to this country. Someone needs to take control here and it's certainly not the president," Steele added, citing Trump's comment that Moore denies those allegations.
"[Moore] denies it. I mean, if you look at what is really going on, and you look at all the things that have happened over the last 48 hours, he totally denies it," Trump had told reporters. "He says it didn't happen. And, you know, you have to listen to him also. You're talking about, he said 40 years ago this did not happen."
Trump also said, "we don't need a liberal person" in that seat.
