Papa John's Founder John Schnatter Resigns John Schnatter has resigned as chairman of Papa John's after admitting to using a racial slur during a conference call in May. The pizza chain says it will appoint a new chairman in the coming weeks. News of Schnatter's resignation came shortly after Major League Baseball suspended its 'Papa Slam' promotion. The conference call in May came to light after Forbes magazine detailed the incident in an article Wednesday. Forbes adds the call was part of media training for Schnatter to prevent future public relations fumbles. Schnatter faced backlash in November last year for critical statements he made about the NFL. The league went on to remove
the pizza chain as an
official sponsor.
