Targeted Breast Cancer Screening Found To Reduce Overdiagnosis

A "risk-based" breast cancer screening program may improve the lives of millions of women by reducing overdiagnosis and saving resources. According to UPI, a study recently published in JAMA Oncology shows that a screening initiative that did not include low-risk women improved the quality of life following screening, reduced overdiagnosis and saved resources while maintaining the benefits of the screening.
