Letters Retrieved From US Immigration Detention Centers Describe Living In Cages
  • 6 years ago
Letters were found from US immigration detention facilities in which people described living in cages. In one letter, CNN reports a woman said she could not bathe for eight days after she was captured near the US-Mexico border and that she and other women slept on the floor under "aluminum paper" blankets. She wrote in the letter, "They treated us so horribly, as though we were animals." Grassroots Leadership first posted the letter on its website on June 25th. The non-profit is circulating a petition to reunite separated families.
