First lady Melania Trump surprised service members and their families on Tuesday morning, making an unannounced visit to the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.  The appearance at the Maryland facility was announced via Twitter after she arrived, with the first lady's communications director, Stephanie Grisham, noting, "This administration will never stop supporting our men and women in uniform and the families who love them." Later in the day, the first lady tweeted herself: "I had a wonderful visit to @WRBethesda today. Thank you to the many dedicated service members & medical staff who take such good care of our men & women in uniform."
This visit comes days after her visit to a migrant shelter.
"Yesterday, I visited @CBParizona facilities & a nonprofit social service shelter of @hhsgov in #Arizona. Thank you to the compassionate & dedicated law enforcement & care providers working hard to secure our nation & take care of children in a difficult situation," she tweeted on June 29.
