History repeated itself in the National Democratic Congress; another political leader has stepped down in wake of a landslide defeat at the polls.

Under the NDC constitution, Nazim Burke’s position as party leader cannot be challenged until November 2020 however he stated that he was stepping down in the best interest of the party.

It was with a similar sentiment that Tillman Thomas stepped down when he too experienced landslide election defeat at the helm of the NDC.

In early 2014, Nazim Burke succeeded Thomas.

Party members on Sunday were beside themselves at the news.
