Five dead as man with grudge shoots up Maryland newsroom

ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND — Five people are dead and many others injured after a man with a grudge targeted a newspaper office in Maryland.
The Baltimore Sun reports that a suspect wielding a shotgun and smoke grenades shot through the glass doors of the Capital Gazette office around 2:40 p.m. on Thursday.
According to one witness, he opened fire on several people, killing two women and three men, and injuring at least three others.
Employees reportedly hid under their desks during the deadly incident and pleaded for help on social media.
Police arrived within a minute of the shooting, surrounding the gunman and taking him into custody. Civilians were escorted out of the building soon after.
The shooter was later identified as 38-year-old Jarrod Ramos, a local with a long-standing grudge against the Capital Gazette. He previously sued the paper for defamation, but lost after failing to prove that what the paper published about him was false.
