White House counselor Kellyanne Conway on Wednesday urged for civility in politics but exempted President Trump's rhetoric from being part of the problem.  She was asked during an appearance on Fox News' 'Fox & Friends' to comment on Democratic Representative Maxine Waters' call for protest against members of the Trump administration. Conway replied, "There's a difference between rhetoric and the social media muscle and cable news cojones that some people have and crimes. People are inciting or asking for crimes or violence." She also asserted there is no "moral equivalence" between Trump invoking violence during his presidential campaign and Waters' encouraging people to "push back" against the Trump administration.  Waters' made the suggestion over the weekend, stating, "if you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd. And you push back on them. And you tell them they're not welcome anymore, anywhere."  While she didn't urge the use of violence, President Trump asserted that she did and criticized her for it.  On Monday evening, Waters said during an appearance on MSNBC's "All In with Chris Hays," she believes in "peaceful protest."   She goes on to say, "he calls for more violence than anybody else."
