Conway Defends Trump’s Endorsement Of Moore, Touts President’s ‘Tremendous Moral Standards’

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway on Wednesday defended President Trump’s endorsement of Roy Moore, the Alabama U.S. Senate candidate facing multiple sexual misconduct allegations.

In doing so, she touted Trump's "tremendous moral standards."
CNN's Chris Cuomo, who was interviewing Conway at the time, didn't let that comment pass unchallenged.
When Conway noted the White House does find the allegations troubling, Cuomo shot back, "But not troubling enough to do anything about them."
Conway was quick to shift the focus to Democratic Senator Al Franken, and the host was just as swift in calling her out for trying "to help mitigate the accusations against Moore."
Trump took to Twitter on Monday and announced his decision to stand with Moore.
"Democrats refusal to give even one vote for massive Tax Cuts is why we need Republican Roy Moore to win in Alabama," Trump wrote. "We need his vote on stopping crime, illegal immigration, Border Wall, Military, Pro Life, V.A., Judges 2nd Amendment and more. No to Jones, a Pelosi/Schumer Puppet!"
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders echoed similar thoughts during a briefing on Tuesday.
"The President's position hasn't changed; still finds those [allegations] concerning," Sanders said. "But as we've also said, the President feels that he would rather have a person that supports his agenda versus somebody who opposes his agenda every step of the way."
