'Roy Moore Story Is 8 Days Old': Conway On Why Trump Tweeted About Franken But Not Moore

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway on Friday attempted to explain the difference in President Trump's reaction to the allegations against Senator Al Franken versus Roy Moore.
President Trump has faced widespread criticism for tweeting about the allegations against Democratic Senator Al Franken but remaining publicly silent on the Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore controversy.
During her appearance on Fox News, White House counselor Kellyanne Conway attempted to defend Trump by stating that Moore's story is "8 days old" while Franken's is "brand new."
"Al Franken was a brand new news story yesterday and the president weighed in as he does on the news of the day often enough," Conway said. "The Roy Moore story is eight days old and the president put out a statement during his Asia trip on that, and since then, our press secretary has spoken on behalf of the president saying that he believes the people of Alabama will sort out what to do with Roy Moore and with that election."
Trump had lashed out at Franken in a series of tweets Thursday evening, hours after Los Angeles-based radio host Leeann Tweeden accused Franken of groping and forcibly kissing her during a USO tour in 2006.
"The Al Frankenstien picture is really bad, speaks a thousand words. Where do his hands go in pictures 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 while she sleeps?" Trump tweeted, referring to a photo shared by Tweeden that shows Franken groping her.
And in another tweet, the president wrote, "And to think that just last week he was lecturing anyone who would listen about sexual harassment and respect for women. Lesley Stahl tape?"
In regard to Moore, while the allegations first surfaced after a Washington Post report last week, other women have continued to "come forward with accusations against the candidate. A woman on Monday accused Moore of sexually assaulting her when she was 16," according to CNN.
