Supreme Court Says Law Enforcement Needs Warrant For Phone Location

According to Broadcasting and Cable, the US Supreme Court sided with privacy in a case involving cell phone records and law enforcement.
In a 5-to-4 decision, the nation's top court determined that law enforcement officers require a warrant before they can legally obtain cell phone records to track individuals.
Chief Justice John Roberts, who wrote the court's opinion, stated that individuals have a reasonable expectation of privacy in the whole of their physical movements.
