Who is Michael Cohen? Narrated by Susie Essman

Michael Cohen is President Trump’s personal lawyer, the likely target of a federal criminal investigation, and target of a civil suit from adult actress Stormy Daniels. But how did he get to where he is today?

He grew up on Long Island, picked up Donald Trump’s book, The Art of the Deal in high school, and apparently read it cover-to-cover twice, becoming obsessed with the real estate mogul. After graduating college, he attended Thomas M. Cooley Law School, which is apparently so bad, it’s not even on the ranking of law schools.

He later became a big name in the “taxi world,” after marrying the daughter of a taxi entrepreneur and inheriting the empire. In 2003, he started buying up apartments in Trump properties and called them “solid investments” in a New York Post article in 2007, which caught his attention.

He was hired as executive vice president of the Trump Organization, and helped navigate the early days of his campaign for president. Just days before the 2016, Cohen made a payment of $130,000 in return for Stormy Daniels silence about claims that she had an affair with Trump in 2006. He has admitted to the payment but claim it was his own money and that Trump knew nothing about it. Since then, federal prosecutors have started an investigation on him for potential campaign finance law violation and many other potential offenses.
