LINE partnering up with blockchain project ICON

CRYPTOWORLD — Japan's largest messaging app LINE announced around mid-May a partnership with the South Korean blockchain project ICON.
According to Bitcoinist, the joint venture is called "UNCHAIN" and will see the LINE development team create a wide range of decentralized applications, dApps, and deploy its blockchain central net on the ICON blockchain protocol.
As of May 31st, the ICON blockchain network had a market cap of around $1.4 billion.
According to an ICON blogpost, "Unchain will create a blockchain ecosystem fueled by a token economy, where the users are rewarded for their contributions to the network."
LINE is a popular messaging app in many countries throughout Asia, with over 200 million active monthly users.
