Internet Reacts To 'Huge' Letter Kim Jong Un Sent To Trump
  • 6 years ago
Twitter users had many thoughts on the "huge" letter Kim Jong Un sent to President Trump.

Social media is mocking the unusually large envelope a North Korean official delivered to President Trump from the regime's leader Kim Jong Un Friday.
In response to official photos of the handoff posted by the White House staff, someone wrote, "You know the North Koreans gave him a huge envelope just so we'd get pictures of Trump's tiny hands clutching at it, right? That photo op was a psy op!"
"In fairness to Kim, big envelopes are needed when you write with giant crayons," commented another tweeter.
And someone else wrote on Twitter, "TRUMP told [North Korean envoy Kim Yong Chol]: Tell your rocket man our envelope is bigger."
Despite the jokes, an Associated Press report about the meeting says that analysts have indicated, "The huge letter is just part of meticulous steps taken by North Korea to present  Kim as a legitimate international statesman who is reasonable and capable of negotiating solutions and making deals."
The in-person exchange occurred just days after Trump pulled out of a highly anticipated meeting with Kim, citing the regime's "tremendous anger and open hostility."
While the letter's contents have not yet been made public, it appears to have helped ease relations with the U.S., as Trump has since announced his renewed participation in the potentially historic summit.
