Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinze Rummenigge on Saturday (August 6) appeared to rule out a return to the club of Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Schweinsteiger transferred from Bayern to Manchester United in 2015 but struggled to make an impact as the club floundered under Louis van Gaal.

With van Gaal gone and new coach Jose Mourinho shaping the squad in his image, there seems to be no place for Schweinsteiger at United and there has been speculation he might return to bayern.

But Rummenigge appeared to squash any chance of a reprieve for the former German international captain when he spoke at Bayern's pre-season open day on Saturday.
