Gold-plated Austin-Healey sports car to sell for more than £400,000

A unique Austin-Healey regarded as the British firm’s most extravagant ever model is set to sell for a whopping £420,000 - thanks to its GOLD-PLATED exterior. The ivory-coloured Austin-Healey 100-Six ‘Goldie’ was the British manufacturer’s star car at the 1958 Earls Court Motor Show. It was prepared in secret, out of regular working hours, and all brightwork was plated in 24-carat gold, right down to the tiniest washers and screws. The seats, dashboard, inner doors, and side panels were trimmed in kid leather while other parts of the interior were covered in mink fur.
