A man's romantic birthday trip to Paris was grounded yesterday when a major airport was evacuated in a security alert. Darren Walmsley was planning to celebrate his 31st birthday on top of the Eiffel Tower with girlfriend Emily Gilmour, 24. But instead the couple found themselves stuck on the tarmac at Manchester Airport where Terminal 3 was evacuated because of a suspicious package. Darren, a dental technician from Bolton, Lancs., said: "It's quite scary to be honest, especially with what horror Manchester has seen over the last few months.
