Company Refuses To Refund Broken Spoons Costing £500 To Help Parkinson's Sufferers
  • 5 years ago
Granddad Ron Dickenson, 79, has been struggling for more than 20 years with a tremor that causes his hands to shake uncontrollably. For years he was only able to eat sandwiches because everything else he tried to put in his mouth fell off the fork or spoon. But when his granddaughter told him about the new Liftware spoons, that contain gyroscopic stabilising technology, he decided to give one a go.
It meant Ron could eat foods on his own other than sandwiches and they splashed out #500 on two spoons. But they both broke and the makers said they would not be replaced, despite being under the 12-month warranty. They said Ron or his wife must have DROPPED them and it does not cover accidental damage. - Yorkshire
