Scottish Santa ditches reindeer for a microlight

Santa takes off from East of Scotland Microlights, North Berwick in a bright red microlight before landing at Merryhatton garden centre. Santa swapped his sleigh for a MICROLIGHT when he made a flying visit to Scotland this week. Father Christmas took to the skies to drop in on delighted children at the Merryhatton Garden Centre in North Berwick, East Lothian. He called flying instructor Gordon Douglas of Gorebridge, Midlothian, for a lift, telling him his reindeer had slept in. Gordon's wife Jill said yesterday (Tues): "Apparently Rudolph wouldn't get out of bed and because he's the leader of the pack the other reindeer wouldn't move either.
