At least 16 West Papuan people are believed to have been killed by the Indonesian military and police in 2017, many of the victims were tortured to death.
This short video gives the names and details of those known to have been killed, however many more West Papuan people were also the victims of "mysterious killings" and "disappearances" in 2017.In total, it is estimated that ever since Indonesia first occupied West Papua in 1963, over 500,000 West Papuan people have died in this "Neglected Genocide".
