Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden’s resident snow leopard Renji has such a good relationship with zoo workers that she voluntarily stands for ultrasound exams.Zoo visitors on May 2 were given a chance to see employees giving seven-year-old Renji, who they believe could be pregnant, an ultrasound in her outdoor habitat.A clip shared to the zoo’s YouTube account shows her care team giving her treats as they conduct an ultrasound on Renji. If Renji is pregnant, her cubs would be the first snow leopards born at the Cincinnati Zoo since 1986.Renji was transferred to the zoo from Chattanooga Zoo in 2012 with the hopes of breeding with Cincinnati Zoo’s male snow leopard, Nubo.
