Supreme Court stays Calcutta HC order; WB panchayat poll voting on May 14

The SC today stayed the Calcutta HC order on e-filing of candidates' nominations in the WB poll panchayats. The SC said that the polls will not be deferred and will be held on May 14 as scheduled. The SC also directed the state EC not to declare results of the unopposed candidates. The court has also issued notifications to the left parties and the BJP.
