Kerala's Ernakulam District Jail has introduced a number of projects beneficial to the inmates as well as the public in general. It has started a canteen for general public. Big crowd of customers visit the food court outside the jail seeking the coveted dishes prepared by jail inmates. There are total 240 inmates in Ernakulam District Jail now, out of these 40 inmates are engaged in cooking activities.
