Michael Bloomberg to write a $4.5 million cheque for Paris climate agreement to cover for US

Former New York Mayor and billionaire will write a cheque of $4.5 million for the Paris climate pact to cover this year’s United State financial commitment to the agreement. US President Donald Trump had pulled out of the pact in June 2017 saying it would cost US trillions of dollars and would “impact US economy in the long run.” This made US the only country to oppose the climate pact. Bloomberg also added that he will continue to provide money for the pact if US does not rejoin the agreement.
