Maharashtra farmers to march again on 1 June

Farmers in Maharashtra will march again on 1 June after 30,000 of them marched in March to demand for their loans to be waived off and for the Swaminathan Commission Report to be implemented. The Akhila Bhartiya Kisan Sabha which is affiliated to the CPI(M) is organising the march to mark the first anniversary of the farmers march in 2017. The ABKS stated that the promises made to the farmers last year and in March 2018 have not been fulfilled. The farmers want a complete loan and bill waiver, a minimum support price from the Committee Report and pensions for them and for farm labourers.
