In the ongoing IPL season, the matches that were scheduled to take place in Chennai have been shifted out after police said on Tuesday that they can't guarantee security and protection amid the ongoing Cauvery management board protests. In the match on Tuesday between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders, a shoe was thrown on the field but the spectator was later evicted from the ground. The IPL Governing Council was promised protection which is why it scheduled matches in the Tamil Nadu capital.
