Reese Witherspoon Inspired HBO to Fix its Gender Pay Gap
HBO’s president of programming, Casey Bloys, told The Hollywood Reporter about Witherspoon’s contribution to creating equality in the company’s workplace.
Bloys said Witherspoon, who is at the forefront of the Time’s Up Movement, helped the company address gender pay disparities.
“…we just finished our process where we went through and made sure that there were no inappropriate disparities in pay; and where there were, if we found any, we corrected it going forward. And that is a direct result of the Time’s Up movement.”
Witherspoon, who stars in and is executive producer of HBO’s Big Little Lies, has her own production company named Pacific Standard Films, which puts female leads in the spotlight.
Pacific Standard Films has produced Big Little Lies and 2014’s Gone Girl and Wild.
