Aadhaar, voter ID can't establish age: Delhi HC
  • 6 years ago
While The Supreme Court decides the validity of the Aadhaar, the Delhi High Court noted that the unique identification number or the voter ID card cannot be used as a proof of birth for a person. The court said that a birth certificate or a certificate provided by a school where a person has completed their education will be a “more robust evidence” of a person’s age. The observation was made when a plea for a kidney donation was rejected by an authorisation committee, citing age differences between the recipient and donor being contradictory on the Aadhaar card and the voter ID card.
