A day after the dalit protests brought the nation to a near halt, the Supreme court refused to stay its March ruling on amendments to SC/ST act. The Supreme Court constituted a bench of Justices AK Goel and UU Lalit to hear the matter. The SC has said that it's concerned about the arbitrary arrests and that the agitators might have not read the judgment. It also said that the court knows how to protect people's rights.. and that not one provision dilutes the SC/ST act.. the court has said that it is in favour of the SC/ST Act. The hearing on the matter will now take place after 10 days.
